Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty.

Our Extended Warranty product has been designed to help protect you against some of the unexpected costs associated with mechanical or electrical failures to your car. Our policies are available on both EQ electric and combustion engine vehicles*.

This means that you’ll be covered for:
  • All factory-fitted mechanical and electrical parts against sudden and unexpected mechanical or electrical failure. This includes the labour costs associated with fitting them.

  • Consequential damage, including damage caused to a covered part by another covered part.

What you’re covered for

Before you purchase our Extended Warranty product, you should ensure that you’re fully aware of all the components that the policy covers. In accordance with our terms and conditions, these parts include:

Working Materials

This includes oils, oil filters and anti-freeze. However, these working materials are only covered if it is essential to replace them due to the failure of a part that is covered by the warranty. 

You’re Covered for the UK & Continental Europe

When you purchase a Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty, you’re covered throughout the UK and in Continental Europe. This means that, whether your car suffers from a mechanical breakdown while you’re travelling to work or you experience an electrical failure during a road trip in France, your car is protected. Within the UK, you’re covered in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. In Continental Europe, our policy helps cover you in the following countries:

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus (Greek territory only), Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal (not including Madeira and The Azores), Romania, Russia (within the city limits of St Petersburg, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Togliatti and Perm), San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (including Balearic Islands but excluding Canary Islands), Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey

Please note that our Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty is valid for up to 60 days per annum (pro rata) when you’re in Continental Europe. In addition, we will not pay more than the equivalent UK cost for parts and labour. For full terms and conditions, please refer to the Policy Handbook.

Casings

Casings are included if any of the covered parts fail and cause damage to the casings. If damage is not caused by a covered part, then casings are excluded from the cover provided. 

High-Voltage Components

This includes all HV batteries, plug-in hybrid batteries, AC/DC on-board chargers, invertors, HV coolant compressors, HV ECUs, HV line sets, electric motors central power train controls (electrical), PTC interior heating and PTC battery heating units. 

Catalytic Converters

Both catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters are covered if they suffer from mechanical failure. However, you are not covered if these parts are damaged because you’ve used contaminated or incorrect fuel, or if the damaged caused is accidental. 

Alarm Systems

This includes any factory-fitted alarms or alarm systems that were fitted according to the manufacturer’s specification at the time the car was first registered. 

In-Car Entertainment

This includes factory-fitted audio or visual equipment that was included as part of the standard specification of the vehicle when it was first registered.

What isn't covered?

A Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty covers most of your car’s factory-fitted mechanical and electrical parts. However, this policy comes with certain terms, conditions and exclusions that you should be aware of.
The policy comes with general exclusions, including:
  • A mileage limit of 120,000 miles

  • A vehicle age limit of 10 years

  • Wear and tear

  • Overheating

Which components are not covered?

In addition to this, the following components are not covered under this policy:

• Air cleaners
• Any seal, gasket or sealant
• Auxiliary belts
• Batteries - non HV and auxiliary batteries
• Bonnet, boot and fuel flap release cables
• Brake friction material and discs/drums

Claims

Claim payments

We will pay any number of claims (including VAT) up to the current market value of your car.

We will not pay more than the manufacturer’s list price for parts and official labour times and costs which are necessary to repair or replace any covered parts.

Extended Warranty

Making a claim

If you experience a mechanical or electrical failure, all you need to do is report the problem to your preferred Mercedes-Benz Authorised Repairer.

They’ll then diagnose the problem and work with us to resolve your claim. If they believe a repair is necessary, then they’ll only ever use Mercedes-Benz Genuine Parts to rectify it.
